Mrs. Evans' Ceramic Classes

Class Descriptions: The first semester of ceramics is for students with little or no experience in high school ceramics.  This course will stress beginning techniques in clay forming and decoration. The primary emphasis will be development of hand-building skills, with wheel forming techniques introduced toward the middle of the semester.  The second semester will continue to develop techniques in clay forming and decoration. Advanced classes will concentrate on perfecting all of the techniques learned in the first year.  This course also covers ceramic history, design elements and principles, art careers, tools, machinery, kilns, firing, and art vocabulary.
