PSAT Test

Official PSAT Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Tesoro Registration Information

  • Preliminary SAT National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test for Grade 11 students  

  • Highest-scoring Junior entrants in each state may qualify

  • Practice SAT Test opportunity for Grades 9 and 10 students; consider waiting to take this test in Grade 11 and take the Free SAT practice tests offered by Futureology.

  • Registration - Deadline passed; see Stand-by information below in Test Day Information

  • $20 registration fee - checks only made out to THS, submit to Mrs. O'Donovan in the Guidance Office

  • Deadline is September 7 @ 3:00 pm

  • No Refunds, No exceptions so please make sure you can take the test

Test Day Information:

  • Room assignments will be posted on the front office windows across from the flagpole by the Friday prior to the test day

  • Check-in at 7:45 a.m. to assigned room

  • Students must bring the following:

    • Photo ID (mandatory)

    • #2 pencils

    • Calculator

    • Snack/drink - optional

    • ASB receipt is not required

  • Note: Cell phone use is prohibited during the test and during the breaks - student will be dismissed.

  • Dismissal Time: end time will vary between rooms, 11:15 a.m. approx.
     

Stand-by Test Takers Information:

  • Students who miss the deadline to register and still wish to take the exam may report to the test site on the test date on a stand-by status. Please note that stand-by status does not guarantee a spot for the test, so if you’re interested we encourage you to register prior to the deadline. Students showing up for stand-by status need to bring: cash in the amount of $30.00, a photo ID, #2 pencils, and a calculator.

Score Report:

  • Students will take their test book home to review with their score report. 
  • Students will access their scores online in December at the College Board's website.

PSAT Test Interpretation

PSAT Test 2018 Scores

Students can access their PSAT Test scores via the College Board website. The 2018 scores will be available online December 10-12, 2018.

 

  1. Go online to Collegeboard and create a college board account to view the online version of the score report. The online version has a ton of more information and resources for your student...and it is Free.
  2. Create a Khan academy account at satpractice.org and link this account with their college board account. This will allow each student to have Free access to:
    1. A tailored practice plan - Import your PSAT/NMSQT results and pinpoint your areas of need to practice.
    2. Interactive practice - Thousands of practice questions, video lessons, and hints.
    3. Practice test and more - 7 official full-length practice tests, plus study and test -taking tips.
